“Right now I just graduated, I just got married, and I'm about to drive 3,600 miles across the country to start my new life. There was a challenge marrying outside of my race.

Growing up in a Hispanic household, there is always that stigma of betraying your community. There is also the language barrier at times, but so far my family has been accepting of my happiness.

I met my wife on Facebook. I used to admin this page for a band that I was a fan of at the time. We had a mutual like for their music. We friend requested each other and started messaging each other. Then, six months later we started talking about actually dating. She was in Maine at the time. Then a year later, I flew out for the first time to meet her.

We're not the most financially stable people. We do what we can, but we are happy. I wish I could put it into better words, but I just got married and I'm super nervous.”
